Teacher's demand top priority; Govt

PESHAWAR: Muttahida Mahaz Asatiza, an organization of teachers in the schools of the public sector, has new offices for the holders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Thursday and presented a list of demands.

At a press conference, the newly elected president of the organization Abdul Munaf said the government should announce and hold elections for the teachers' union.

He called for an end to all kinds of political interference in the Department of Education. He said the funds Education Foundation staff, told the teachers' salaries deducted should be used to small clinics at the district and provincial hospital on the model of Fauji Foundation Hospital in establishing the province. These hospitals must provide all kinds of medical devices for the teachers and their families, he said.

He demanded special quota for students of teachers for recruitment to the Department of Education. Abdul Munaf warned launch a protest movement March, when the demands were not met.
