Aitzaz Hasan brave student Herald’s Person of the Year

Sixteen years Aitzaz Hassan, killed while avoiding a suicide bombing at his school in Hangu in January of last year, as a person Herald 2014 selected.

Herald Person of the Year-year project aims to people in Pakistan who had a strong influence on the news and is designed, good or bad, what was important about the year to identify.

Hasan, whose victims reached poignant after the attack on 16 December Peshawar Public School of the Army, the winner absentee ballot was in a voting process, the three-way online voting, and included the input of a group of 10 prominent Pakistanis. In the last cumulative result Hasan received 24.1 percent of the vote, followed closely by Imran Khan, who received 23.3pc and was on the list for "creating the biggest political storm of the year" included.

Other candidates were lawyer Rashid Rehman, slaughtered last year to defend an accused of blasphemy; the Lyari footballer who finished third in the championship of street children; Mama Qadeer, which for the return of the missing Baloch; Children activist and winner of the Nobel Prize for Malala Yousafzai; Talk Show TV Hamid Mir; Army Chief of Staff General Raheel Sharif; Cricket Younis Khan and jointly, all local administrators who debuted movies this year.

In the year to come Herald, Yousafzai - Herald Person of the Year 2012 - a tribute to Hasan, wrote: ". Our country is blessed with brave people The Aitzaz Hasan history reflects their confidence, courage and bravery."
