Pakistani university student shot dead in Chicago



A Pakistani student was enrolled at Loyola University in Chicago Friday killed in an attempted robbery, the Chicago Tribune.

Accompanied by his brother, 23 Mutahir Rauf went block 1300. Albion Avenue West near Roger Park, when he stopped by two men on foot, just a block from campus.

Police said the robbers pulled a gun and ordered the brothers to recover their property.

Rauf protested and tried to grab the gun. He was fatally shot in the head and chest in the scuffle that followed.

The attackers managed to escape unharmed brother Rauf reported the scene.

Loyola University confirmed the incident in a statement on the official website of the university.

"We are deeply saddened by this tragic situation, and we ask you to keep the students family in your thoughts and prayers."

No arrests have been made yet not.

In another update that the University:

"The Chicago Police Department (CPD) is the leading detective agency and detectives are actively looking for information that is described as follows offenders to identify and arrest of two perpetrators of these terrible crimes According to the DPC report.:
