Student injured in grenade blast at Bannu school gate



PESHAWAR: The grenade explosion leaders occurred at the main entrance of the school in Bannu government Monday, leaving an injured student.

Police said the explosion occurred when the detonator of a hand grenade, which is what the school brought` by a student of class nine, exploded in his pocket. The student was arrested and questioned by the Board management station (SHO) police station in the city.

The SHO said that the student was in for questioning and medical treatment as well as in detention.



He added that the child's family will be contacted to determine if he brought` hand grenade to engage with the intention in criminal activity or for other reasons.

Operation Zarb-i-Azb military against the militants in North Waziristan, it launched on June 18, took a heavy toll on children in other Fata agencies and, where schools and other educational institutions have been closed indefinitely for security reasons,

Like other tribal areas of North Waziristan education is in shambles because of militancy. Many educational institutions were occupied by militants or the other or by the security forces. Among them is the Cadet College Razmak, now a military base.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced, to obtain confessions of displaced students in universities and other professional institutions. Each student is therefore shifted Rs. 2,000 monthly allowance in Bannu said Minister of Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani.
